Cathy Munro, RN
St. Elizabeth's Medical Center
Cathy has worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for over 40 years on both the antepartum and mother and baby floors. "I do like the work that I do. Each baby is a new beginning, a new life, a new miracle." Ms. Munro, an active volunteer, has worked with DOVE in Quincy, a domestic violence shelter for women. Cathy was nominated by her daughter who says "she makes people's lives better."
Stephanie Montgomery, RN
Stephanie is a registered nurse for Lifeworks, where she works with adults with developmental disabilities. Danielle Warzecki, Senior Director of Residential Services, said, “She treats them with compassion and respect. She assisted in opening a medical model group home in which five men reside. Because of Stephanie's care, the health of all five men has improved, as well as the quality of their lives.”
Tarma Johnson, FNP-BC
Mattapan Community Health Center
Tarma serves as the Director of Clinical Health Services and a Nurse Practitioner at Mattapan Community Health Center (MCHC), specializing in adult primary care. She has worked at MCHC for eleven years. As the current president of the Black Nurses Association in Massachusetts, Ms. Johnson serves as a leader in healthcare and her community.
Sara Hunter, RN, BSN, OCN
Massachusetts General Hospital
As an oncology nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, Sara is a trusted caregiver and friend to her patients. Billie Jo Weiss, one of Sara’s patients, says, “She has been my nurse since 2010 and even though she has many patients, she makes you feel like you are the only one. She is an instrumental part of my medical team, providing hope and continual support through my cancer journey.”
