Admission/Application Procedure
All documents submitted to the College as required to complete the
admission process remain the property of Labouré College. Applicants are
responsible for submitting the following:

Application for admission, with non-refundable application fee
of $50.

Official transcript of secondary school or official copy of GED.

Any and ALL official college transcript(s).

Professional letter of recommendation on official letterhead.

All applicants who meet the minimum admission’s requirements
above are required to complete the Accuplacer exam. Those that
hold a bachelors degree or higher are exempt.
Accuplacer scores must be submitted by application
deadlines, with no exceptions. Accuplacer testing only applies
to degree programs. Applicants for certificate programs and the
RN-BSN program are exempt from taking the Accuplacer
test. Applicants eligible to sit for the Accuplacer test
will be notified by Admissions to schedule a testing
appointment.

Nursing Advanced Placement Program for LPNs applicants must
provide proof of a current, valid Massachusetts license as a
practical nurse.

Neurodiagnostic Technology applicants are required to visit a
clinical site, complete a “Motor Function Skills and Abilities”
self-assessment sheet, and must meet with NDT department
chairperson or attend an information sessions and clinical visit
as a part of the admission requirement. Applicants to the EOL
(NDT Distance Learning Certificate) are required to submit an
essay and an additional letter of recommendation.

Radiation Therapy applicants must meet with their department
chairperson, complete a “Motor Function Skills and Abilities”
self-assessment sheet, attend an information session, and
visit a clinical site.

Official results of the TOEFL must be
submitted to the admissions office by
all applicants whose native language is
not English and who have not graduated
from
an American high school.

Official transcripts from all colleges
and secondary schools attended must be
translated into English and converted
into an American grading system.

Applicants seeking admission for the fall semester must complete
the entire application process (including Accuplacer testing) by
July 1st. Notification letters will be issued on a rolling
basis. A $200.00 enrollment deposit is due according to the date
on the acceptance letter. Applicants seeking admission for the
winter semester must complete the entire application process
(including Accuplacer testing) by November 1st. Notification

To indicate acceptance of the offer of admission, the applicant
must complete the Acceptance Form and submit a non-refundable
enrollment deposit of $200.00 by the deadline identified
within the acceptance letter.
Admission Testing
All qualified applicants who do not hold a bachelors degree or higher
are required to complete a computer based assessment known as the
Accuplacer Tests. These tests are used by the Admissions Committee as
part of the admissions process, as well as to evaluate basic skills in
the areas of sentence skills, reading comprehension and mathematics. If
the applicant is admitted, they are also used to match students with
appropriate courses and academic support services. Labouré College
Accuplacer testing appointments are scheduled weekly in the morning and
afternoon.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled testing
appointment. Late arrivals will not be allowed in the
designated testing area and will need to reschedule their
testing appointment.

A photo ID is required in order to sit for the Accuplacer test.

Applicants normally complete Accuplacer testing within a three
hour time block. An applicant requiring special testing
accommodations must make their requirements known to the
Admissions Office when scheduling their examination
appointment. Written documentation from a medical
professional describing the suggested accommodations must be
submitted to the Admissions Office prior to the Accuplacer test.
Accuplacer Scoring
Raw or scaled scores will be used for acceptance and placement purposes.
Students scoring below 60 in Reading Comprehension, 70 in Sentence
Skills, or 35 in Arithmetic will not be accepted to the college.
The following minimum scores will be required for acceptance and placement
into general education courses: Reading Comprehension- 80, Sentence
Skills- 90, and Arithmetic- 55.
The following minimum scores will be required for acceptance and placement
into HCOP courses: Reading Comprehension- 60, Sentence Skills- 70,
and Arithmetic- 35. HCOP or the Health Careers Opportunity Program
focuses on teaching the skills necessary for success in nursing and

Students who have taken the Accuplacer test in reading comprehension,
sentence skills, and arithmetic at another institution, within the last
calendar year, may submit official proof of their scores, in lieu of
sitting for testing. Scores from all three sections of the test must be
received in order for the scores to be considered.
Scores must be received by the Admissions Office in order for the file
to be complete. Scores must come in a sealed envelope, signed by
another institution’s authorizing party.
The college will allow one retest within a three month period. A two
week waiting period between the initial test and the retest is
required.
