The library has Internet access, learning modules available through C-A-I, and access to several significant databases related to healthcare education. A separate study/tutoring area is equipped with computers that allows for individual study sessions, as well as, the ability to develop PowerPoint presentations.
The college has a wireless local area (WiFi) network on campus. The network utilizes the latest technology from Cisco Systems, Inc., to allow for 802.11b/g wireless connectivity at speeds up to 54Mbs. Most laptops sold today come with built-in wireless b/g cards and most older models can be easily upgraded. The wireless network is open to all our students and creates opportunities for accessing web-based instructional resources including Blackboard. Passwords for our students are available through the office of student affairs.
Blackboard is web-based software that allows for secure online interactions between faculty and students. The college uses Blackboard for three levels of course work. Web Enhanced courses use Blackboard to supplement traditional courses. Online Hybrid courses use Blackboard to conduct the majority of course work online. Distance courses use Blackboard to conduct all course work online.
