Vascular Sonography FAQs

Q: Do you offer general (abdominal and ob/gyn) or cardiac sonography?

A: No. At the present time, we offer a Professional Certificate in Vascular Sonography only.

Q: I have one outstanding course. Can I still apply?

A: Yes. However, the outstanding prerequisite course must be completed with the minimum grade requirement prior to the start of the program.

Q: How long is the program and what is the program schedule?

A: The program is 16 months. There are hybrid courses and on-campus labs. Clinical education begins in the second semester. Clinical education is three days each week for 12 months. Clinical goes through the summer with vacation breaks throughout.

Q: Do you have a part-time, weekend, evening or online program?

A: There are no part-time, weekend or online options for this program. The courses are hybrid - hybrid courses meet on-campus two or three times each semester, and the rest of the coursework is done online. Lab courses are on-campus. Clinical hours are on-site at local hospitals.

Q: Can I work while I am enrolled in the program?

A: The sonography program is very intensive and demanding. Students may find it difficult to work while enrolled in the program. It is strongly recommended that students work 10 hours per week or not at all.

Q: Does the school provide job placement upon graduation?

A: No. However, there is a significant shortage of vascular sonographers nationwide.
