In order to be accepted into the Associate in Science in Nursing applicants must meet the general College admission requirements. 

Additional admission requirements for the program are dependent upon your level of education. Please review the categories below to determine your specific requirements for admission.

High School Graduates

Applicants who have never taken any courses for credit after high school (within five years of graduation from high school)

  • Required to submit most recent official transcript at time of application; a final transcript must be provided at least two weeks prior to the start of their accepted term
  • Minimum cumulative GPA must be a 2.0 or higher
  • Completion of two math courses with at least a “C” (2.0) or higher
  • Completion of one lab science course with at least a “C” (2.0) or higher
  • All students will need to submit SAT or ACT scores
  • Students who do not have SAT or ACT scores may be required to take the TEAS test, which will be provided at no charge by Labouré College
  • All accepted students will receive an Academic Success Plan and are required to meet with their assigned academic advisor at least two weeks before beginning their first semester

GED or HiSET Completers

Applicants who have never taken any courses for credit after completion of their GED or HiSET

  • Required to submit official proof of completion at time of application
  • Submit SAT or ACT scores (if available)
  • If no SAT or ACT is available, students will be required to take the TEAS
  • All accepted students will receive an Academic Success Plan and are required to meet with their assigned academic advisor at least two weeks before beginning their first semester

Transfer Students or Associate Degree Holders

Applicants who have completed courses outside of high school, but have not completed a four-year advanced degree

  • Required to submit all official transcripts to review potential course transfers
  • Minimum cumulative GPA must be 2.0 or higher
  • Completion of at least one, three-credit math course. Grade must be a “C” (2.0) or higher (non-developmental only)
  • Completion of at least one, four-credit life science course with a lab component. Grade must be a “C” (2.0) or higher
  • Students may be requested to take the TEAS test which will be provided at no charge by Labouré College
  • Accepted students will be required to meet with an academic advisor at least two weeks prior to beginning their first term, and may be required to have an Academic Success Plan
  • Students who have questions about courses that can be used for transfer credit should visit the transfer credit website or reach out directly to Admissions.

Bachelor Degree Holders

Applicants who have a bachelor's degree

  • Students are required to meet with an academic advisor at least two weeks before their first term, however, are not required to have an Academic Success Plan

Master Degree Holders

Applicants who have a master's degree

LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses)
  • Required to submit official proof of LPN licensure at time of application
  • All requirements for Transfer Students (listed above) must be submitted
  • Accepted students will be required to meet with an academic advisor at least two weeks prior to beginning their first term, however, are not required to have an academic success plan
  • Note: After students are accepted, LPN students may choose to take the HESI (Health Education System Incorporated) exam to receive exception credit for NUR1000 and/or 2000.
