Labouré College Celebrates Advent

adventcand51-1000-ffccccccWhite-3333-0.20.3-1.png

The Advent Season beginning Sunday, November 30. It is the time in which Christians recall there was a time in history where the Messiah had not yet entered the human family. In anticipation of Christmas where Christians recall that God the Creator shares our humanity in Jesus, we look to continue what Jesus said and did for those who have substantial life problems particularly around having food and housing.

The Catholic Identity Working Group invites students and employees to join us for our first annual "Advent Reflection". There will be three weekly ½ hour Reflection intervals planned and led by Labouré staff.

Wednesday, December 3:

First weekly Reflection from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm in the Reflection Room across from the Library.

Wednesday, December 10:

Second weekly Reflection from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm in the Reflection Room.

Tuesday, December 16:

Third weekly Advent Reflection is in conjunction with our Pro-staff Lunch where the efforts of the Student Nurse Association and their sponsorship of the Food Drive currently occurring to benefit Laboure students and families we will be recognized. Representatives from Fr. Bill's & MainSpring in Quincy, a food support network the SNA is currently working with, will also be attending to lend their voice to our Advent theme.

Wednesday, December 17:

Fourth weekly Reflection from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm in the Reflection Room.
With the exception of the December 16 Luncheon, the Reflections will bring participants to read from Scripture, pray and provide shared reflection consistent with the theme of hunger and homelessness in light of people of Faith responding to its harmful impact in our local communities.

The Reflection Room, located across from the Library is now open daily and through the evening. Please take time and use the space to quietly tap into your spiritual values no matter your faith tradition.
