Carole completed her nursing degree as a single mother to six children. She carried on a fulfilling career as a nurse at the Little House Health Center in Dorchester and was beloved by all who knew her. Though she passed from COVID in 2020, her legacy lives on through the Carole A. Doherty RN Memorial Scholarship which helps single mothers in pursuit of a nursing degree.
Thomas and Charlotte Flatley founded The Flatley Foundation to provide support to local and national causes. Charlotte was a nurse, and graduated from the Carney Hospital School of Nursing. Today, the Flatley family is one of the largest supporters of Labouré’s mission and was presented with the Labouré Medal at this year's Labouré Care Awards.
Lili was a nurse manager at Spaulding Nursing and Therapy Center in Brighton where she helped establish a dedicated COVID area on her unit. During this time, Lili was diagnosed with breast cancer, and continued to support her patients while undergoing cancer treatment herself. She is now cancer-free and back to work.
As Chief Nursing Officer and VP of Patient Services, Dorothy has dedicated her career to improving patient outcomes and increasing patient satisfaction. Dorothy started as an emergency nurse before moving into administration. She enjoys mentoring the nurses and nursing students who come through her hospitals.
Thank you for joining us as we celebrated the local nurses who care for our communities with extraordinary compassion. Proceeds from the event as well as donations fund scholarships that help eliminate barriers to nursing education for those called to care.
